A Computer System of Reporting and Managing of Emergency Laboratory Test Results

Abstract

|
It is essential that the emergency laboratory results must be reported to the clinicians fast and accurately. The department of Clinical Pathology of Seoul National University Hospital developed the computerization system of our own for the eme￢rgency laboratory, which is using a third generation language of MUPUS, and has
the funtions for the reporting and inquiring most recent results of emergency tests for CBC, electrolytes, and arterial blood gas analysis and accumulated results of each of them.
We are using the system as a pilot project in our department in Children´s Hosp￢ital in connection with the pediatric intensive care unit. And we are planning to expand the range of its application.
